Moving along — destination #3

Good bye Minnesota!

It’s been fun, but on to our next destination we go. Getting to visit with David’s sister, brother-in-law, and our nieces and nephew was amazing! I’m so incredibly glad for the opportunity to do so and appreciate their hospitality! How often do you get the chance to spend and entire month with family who live across the country from you? It’s been very special to spend time with and really get to know our nieces an nephew in a way that we would not typically get to in a short weekend or holiday visit.

Minnesota weather was amazing! The trees and plants are beautiful! The sky was typically vibrant and blue! Overall, I have no complaints about the state… lol! When we first arrived, the mask mandate here was still in place, but was lifted about a week later. To say that we were ecstatic is an understatement! I’ll tell ya though, when they lifted it, they LIFTED it! Most all stores immediately posted that they were no longer required to enter, even most of the big chain stores who were still requiring it while we were in Texas. To each their own opinion… we are happy to see faces and BREATHE fresh air again!

There are so many things to do in and around the Minneapolis area, but we didn’t really get out to many. We’ve go to a few of the area attractions during past visits, but honestly were happy just hanging at their house and being normal. We did check out some area restaurants, breweries, parks, and shopping.

We’ve been staying on their land in our camper with only some fresh water and electric. Basically we have all we need, but without the constant water hook up and sewer we can’t shower, do dishes, or really anything that uses much water and will fill our tanks quickly. So, limited hand washing and emergency bathroom use only, but we have AC, heat, a fridge, lights, internet, etc… I have recently (the past week) been struggling some with not having all of the amenities of home in my actual home, or sleeping quarters better explains it here. Of course, we had everything we needed within throwing distance in their house, but it’s not quite the same. As much as we will miss them, I will be happy to have a more permanent type place to set up the camper.

Where is the next permanent type place to set up at? Missouri! We’ve currently reserved a place not far from where we are building. We’ve got some banking and house planning business to get done soon so it just makes sense to head that direction for a while. We’re checking in this coming weekend, Memorial Day.
